Associate SQL Server DBA – TransUnion

Role Overview
We’re looking for an Associate SQL Server DBA with 1–2 years of experience to join our System Build team. This role isn’t a traditional DBA position – it’s a chance to grow into a DevOps‑focused database engineer, working with modern tools and practices to automate and improve our SQL Server platforms and CI/CD pipelines.
Responsibilities
* Support the design and build of SQL Server environments (on‑prem and cloud)
* Learn to automate database deployments using CI/CD tools such as Azure DevOps and Octopus Deploy
* Help improve performance, reliability, and security of our database platforms
* Collaborate with developers and engineers to solve real‑world problems
* Get hands‑on experience with scripting, version control, and infrastructure‑as‑code
Qualifications
* 1–2 years of experience as an SQL Server DBA (any version)
* Comfortable writing T‑SQL and working with SQL Agent jobs
* Understanding of backups, restores, and high availability
* Interest in learning DevOps tools and practices
* A proactive mindset and strong communication skills
