The Role
A senior legal professional is sought to take ownership of an established employment law function, driving its evolution while also contributing to the wider firm’s visibility and growth initiatives. You will manage your own portfolio of matters and play a key role in shaping the service offering.
Success in this post requires strong commercial instincts, confidence in client-facing situations and the ability to work effectively with colleagues at all levels.
What You’ll Bring
* Qualified solicitor (or equivalent legal qualification).
* Significant post-qualification experience in employment law (approx. 7+ years).
What You’ll Be Doing
* Handling a broad spectrum of employment matters—both advisory and dispute-related—in a self-sufficient manner.
* Working collaboratively across internal teams to maintain a positive, solutions-driven working culture; providing clear, calm and constructive guidance to senior stakeholders.
* Building lasting client relationships, ensuring advice is timely, pragmatic and appropriately priced.
* Using performance, finance and workflow data to plan resources properly—anticipating pinch points, reallocating support, and ensuring the team is always positioned to deliver a high-quality service.
* Maintaining a high level of technical expertise, drawing on your own knowledge and that of colleagues; offering employment support on corporate transactions where needed.
* Embedding a client-centric mindset, ensuring service consistency is as strong as legal accuracy.
* Contributing to the development of junior team members, championing open communication and ensuring feedback—even complaints—is used constructively.
* Preparing departmental budgets, supervising billing and working closely with finance to forecast revenue and workflow.
