About The Role
We are seeking a dedicated and experienced GPwER in Chronic Pain to lead and develop pain management services, working collaboratively across specialties to deliver high‑quality, patient‑centred care.
Responsibilities
* Develop and implement pain management plans for patients with acute and chronic pain.
* Practice at consultant grade in Pain, conducting initial assessments, medication reviews, prescribing, complex case reviews, communication with primary and secondary care, leading MDT patient reviews.
* Provide clinical guidance and advice to colleagues, including advanced practice pain clinicians.
* Engage in teaching and mentoring, education and supervision.
* Support the delivery of a high‑quality community pain management service aligned with service and ICB priorities, including: promotion of long‑term condition management, focus on quality of life, support for fitness and mental wellbeing, use of social prescribing, peer support, third‑sector involvement, return to work support.
* Identify areas of variation to reduce inequalities in access and establish value across the pain health economy.
* Enhance management of patients within primary and community care and actively manage the demand for secondary care services to ensure quicker access to appropriate treatment.
Qualifications
* GMC registration.
* MBBS or equivalent.
* Fully accredited for Higher Specialist Training, FFPMRCA or equivalent.
* Post‑graduate qualification relevant to pain or relevant experience.
* Strong commitment to patient care, continuous professional development, excellent communication, leadership and team‑working skills.
