To deliver a balanced and flexible programme of non-accredited and accredited (depending on experience) Family Learning provision across Lincolnshire. To develop adults’ confidence in their own skills and abilities. To support and develop positive interaction between parent and child. To help signpost families to further learning opportunities within their local community.
Family Learning is part of the Adult Skills and Family Learning Service within Lincolnshire County Council.
Responsibilities
* Deliver joint family learning sessions and adult-only sessions (where applicable)
* Work with local schools for joint sessions; act as the adult learner tutor with a school link teacher leading the parent and child session
* Develop and deliver a range of courses and workshops, including short engagement workshops and courses of 2 hours duration; note that preparation, planning and setup time is paid in addition
* Teach joint sessions in subjects such as English and maths, Learning through Play, Play and Language, Family Fun with Reading, Fun with Numbers, Play with Words, Healthy Living, Grow your Own, Family Fun Outdoors, Family English, and Family maths
* Deliver adult-only provision including Functional Skills English/Maths or portfolio-based accredited Literacy

* Family Learning focuses on improving outcomes for families by helping learners learn together, increasing self-confidence, and changing attitudes to learning
* Provision targets learners with English and maths skills below Level 2
* Engagement with hard-to-reach learners by emphasizing family involvement rather than solely addressing Skills for Life needs
* Knowledge from school is placed in a family context to foster a love of reading and learning
Remuneration Example
An example showing earnings for a 2-hour workshop breakdown (values are indicative): Teaching £37.06; Start of course planning £37.06; Weekly planning £18.53; Uploading to Moodle £9.26; Setup/clearing away time £9.26; Additional setup time (if needed) £9.26; End of course admin £18.53. Total £138.96.
Qualifications and Requirements
* Experience delivering family learning (joint sessions) and/or adult-only sessions
* Ability to teach English and maths (including Functional Skills) and ESOL as applicable
* Capacity to develop engaging activities for adults and children and work with school partners
