Overview
Aspiring Educational Psychologist - Farnham – Education and Training – Special Needs (SEN) – Psychology – Criminology. We are looking for a dedicated individual to support children with Severe Learning Difficulties (SLD) and associated challenging behaviours. You will join a friendly, energetic and creative team within a specialist school near Farnham. The School caters for children aged 3-19 with learning difficulties. Some children may have additional sensory impairments, physical difficulties or challenging behaviour. The Therapy Department includes qualified Speech and Language Therapists, Occupational Therapists and Physiotherapists. Therapists are based around the school and have a clinic room for individual work. Therapy is delivered across the curriculum with close liaison with teaching staff and parents.
As an Aspiring Educational Psychologist, you will have the opportunity to gain practical experience by working closely with therapists, expanding your knowledge and skillset. This is also an ideal opportunity for aspiring Occupational Therapists, Clinical Psychologists and Speech and Language Therapists.

* Able to plan learning activities to suit pupil ability with support from a teacher
* Able to encourage the development of social skills and support students\' individual needs
* Excellent interpersonal and communication skills
* Able to provide academic and pastoral support
Qualifications and Skills
* Professional Skills & Requirements – Aspiring Educational Psychologist: willing to work 1:1 and in small groups; able to plan learning activities with teacher support; able to encourage social skills; excellent interpersonal and communication skills; able to provide academic and pastoral support; experience with young people with special needs is desirable but not essential.
* Personal Qualities – Passionate about helping children reach their full potential; able to build confidence and motivation; able to build robust relationships with students; able to remain calm and resilient under stress or conflict; caring, compassionate, and a good listener.
5 days a week (Mon-Fri) • £89 - £105 per day
Excellent on-site education and training, support and CPD are provided to safeguard students. You MUST have the right to work in the UK to apply. No visa sponsorship. Candidates registering with Academics Ltd will need to have or apply for an Enhanced DBS and/or overseas police check where appropriate. Must be able to travel to Farnham.
