The role
Shift Leader - Chemicals - £48k - £52k
A leading Chemical manufacturing business is looking for a Shift Leader to supervise production operations, lead a team of operators and ensure safe, efficient and high-quality manufacturing performance.
This is a hands-on leadership role where you'll take ownership of the plant during your shift, ensuring production targets are achieved while maintaining the highest safety and quality standards.
What you'll be doing:
- Leading and motivating a team of Production Operators
- Ensuring production targets, quality standards and safety requirements are met
- Coordinating shift activities and handovers
- Managing work permits and supporting maintenance activities
- Troubleshooting operational issues and escalating where required
- Driving continuous improvement across the production area
- Acting as the senior operational contact during nights, weekends and holiday periods
What we're looking for:
- Previous experience in a Shift Leader, Team Leader or Supervisor role
- Manufacturing, process, chemical or industrial production experience
- Strong leadership and communication skills
- Experience working with safety procedures and permit systems
- A proactive, hands-on approach to problem solving
