Role Overview:
A new opportunity has arisen for a Senior or Principal Electrical, Control & Instrumentation (EC&I) Engineer to drive technical excellence across complex projects for an independent provider of Nuclear Engineering and Manufacturing services in the UK.
The Senior/ Principal will deliver EC&I design and engineering from Front-End Engineering through Detailed Design and project completion, working as part of a team of engineers to deliver technically compliant, cost-effective solutions on schedule.
Key Responsibilities:
* Interpret design requirements and deliver fit-for-purpose EC&I solutions.
* Support and mentor a team of design engineers.
* Supervise, verify, and produce design deliverables, including electrical schematics, general arrangement drawings, cable schedules, functional and software design documentation, and O&M manuals.
* Ensure integration and coordination with other engineering disciplines.
* Manage the design lifecycle in line with UK H&S legislation and relevant standards.
* Contribute to Design Control Files, HAZOP sessions, and design reviews.
* Identify and manage bought-out plant and equipment.
* Collaborate with manufacturing, testing, and commissioning teams to optimise design.
* Implement design change control and manage contract variations as required.
* Deliver projects within budget and timescales.
Essential Knowledge & Experience:
* HNC qualification or equivalent with extensive engineering experience.
* Proven experience managing engineers and design teams.
* Nuclear industry experience is desirable.
* Knowledge of British and European technical and legislative standards.
* Familiarity with IEC 61508 Safety Standards advantageous.
* Proficient in MS Office and CAD software (AutoCAD and AutoCAD Electrical).
