An established, independent environmental consultancy made up of 4 Consultants is seeking an Assistant Ecologist to join its growing ecology team.
This is an excellent opportunity for an early-career ecologist to gain hands-on experience across a broad range of projects while developing technical and consultancy skills within a supportive team environment.
Your new role
The main responsibilities of this role will include:
1. Assisting with ecological field surveys, including habitat and protected species surveys
2. Supporting the preparation of ecological reports, assessments and technical documentation
3. Collecting, managing and analysing field data
4. Supporting project delivery to agreed timescales
5. Working collaboratively with colleagues across multiple projects
What you'll need to succeed
6. Degree in Ecology, Environmental Science or a closely related subject
7. Some practical experience in ecology (consultancy, placement or voluntary experience advantageous)
8. Working knowledge of UK wildlife legislation and standard survey methodologies
9. Willingness to undertake fieldwork, including variable hours when required
10. Full UK driving licence
11. Strong written and verbalmunication skills
12. Methodical approach with good attention to detail
