Warwickshire County Council’s Library and Information Service is looking for a motivated,customer-focused individual to join our team as a Senior Customer Service Assistant (SCSA) at Warwick Library.
This is an exciting opportunity to play a key role in delivering a welcoming, inclusive, and highquality library service to our communities.
About the role
As an SCSA, you will support the day-to-day running of the library, helping to ensure our customers receive an excellent service. You will take on a leadership role on shift, supporting colleagues and volunteers, and helping to maintain a safe and positive environment for all.
Your responsibilities will include:
1. Delivering a high standard of customer service in a busy public library
2. Supporting and supervising staff and volunteers during shifts
3. Assisting with the smooth running of library operations, including opening and closing the building
4. Promoting library services, events, and digital resources
5. Supporting community engagement activities and events
6. Handling customer enquiries, including those that may be sensitive or complex
7. Supporting the implementation of council and library policies
About you
We are looking for someone who:
8. Has excellent customer service and communication skills
9. Is confident working with a wide range of people in the community
10. Can support and guide colleagues and volunteers effectively
11. Is organised, flexible, and able to prioritise tasks in a busy environment
12. Is confident using IT systems and supporting customers with digital services
13. Demonstrates a positive, proactive, and inclusive approach
Previous experience in a customer-facing role is essential, and experience of working in a library or similar setting is desirable.

Mon – 8.30am-5.30pm (8hrs)

Wed- 8.30am-5.30pm (8hrs)
Thur- OFF
Fri- OFF
Sat- OFF
Week 2
Mon- 8.30am-5.30pm (8hrs)
Tue- OFF
Wed- 9.30am-5.30pm (7hrs)
Thu- OFF
Fri-OFF
Sat- 9am-4pm (6hrs)
