An exciting opportunity has arisen for a highly motivated and enthusiastic individual to join one of the largest critical care units in the Midlands as an information officer.
As an information officer you will play a key role in the collection of data, producing reports and liaising with a multi-disciplinary team. This role will require you to work within clinical areas of critical care and other wards.
Working as part of a team, that covers across three units on two sites, you will be based at QMC campus, however you will be required to cover at the City campus at times.
Working as part of the Critical Care Audit team the post holder will be responsible for completion, validation and submission of forms for the Intensive Care National Audit and Research Centre (ICNARC) which also involves the extensive and complex use of patient related information. Additional responsibilities will include helping to complete and develop audit reports and processes within the Critical Care specialty, the retrieval and reporting of non-audit information for Critical Care, and covering for and assisting other members of the post holders immediate team as appropriate.

* Responsible for the collection of data from patient case notes, Critical Care charts, and the completion of forms for the Intensive Care National Audit and Research Centre (ICNARC) for Unit Funding and generating of Value Added Reports.
* Responsible for inputting and storing complex data and ability to concentrate when updating and maintaining patient computerised databases, e.g. ICNARC, Medicus, NotIS, Careflow, Bluespier and Excel on a daily basis.
* Interrogate and analyse data and to translate into intelligence for use at Trust, Division, Specialty or Department level.
* Be innovative, forward thinking and support the development process of automated systems that enable efficiency and increased productivity within the team and Trust ensuring systems and processes remain future proof.
* Responsible for providing training sessions and developing Standard Operating Procedures on data collection, KPI reporting, service line reporting to support the departments quality and financial targets.
* Be responsible for collating information to generate the Activity Report from Ward Watcher / Medicus (validate demographic patient details, treatment and diagnosis for CCMDS) and forward to the relevant colleagues.
* Responsible for the provision of information to support the activity planning and monitoring processes at service level in Critical Care, including the Key Performance Indicators (KPIs) for each of the Critical Care units.
