Electricity Distribution - Network Technician
An opportunity is available for a Network Technician based at our Grantham depot.
You will be accountable to the Team Manager for the construction, maintenance, and repair of the underground and overhead network up to 66kV. Additionally, you will be responsible for programming and monitoring immediate work colleagues, switching up to 66kV, issuing appropriate safety documentation, and handling other tasks relevant to the Technician role.
Main Responsibilities
* Network operations including issuing Limitations of Access and Permit to Work safety documents up to 66kV
* Construction of distribution substations, and construction and alteration of overhead lines and associated plant. Installation of plant. Laying and jointing of cables up to 11kV.
* Repair and replacement of faulty and obsolete plant, cables, and overhead lines.
* Recording asset routes, details, and positions.
Ideal Candidate
You must be able to work independently as part of a small team and make on-the-spot decisions as required. Good communication skills, a flexible attitude, and the ability to cope under pressure and meet tight deadlines are essential. You will need to train as an SAP and be mobile throughout the area to undertake standby duties as part of the team’s rota. A full UK driving licence is required.
If not already attained, the successful candidate will need to undertake a Level 3 City & Guilds 2339 qualification.
*Please note that the successful candidate may initially be appointed at a lower salary until all relevant courses and training are completed.
