We are seeking an experienced Head of Engineering to lead a dynamic team and drive strategic growth across two major UK sites. If you have a passion for leading engineering teams through transformation, possess expertise in microelectronics, and are excited about contributing to innovative projects in the aerospace/defense sector, this could be your next great challenge.
Key Responsibilities:
* Lead and manage engineering teams across multiple locations
* Develop and implement technology strategies to meet growth targets
* Oversee the planning and execution of customer-funded and internal development programs
* Manage project timelines, budgets, and communications, ensuring alignment with goals
* Maintain high standards for engineering processes, including design and risk management (FMEA, FTA, etc.)
* Collaborate with cross-functional teams to optimize product designs and supplier capabilities
* Ensure continuous improvement through process control and quality management
Key Skills & Qualifications:
* Proven leadership in engineering teams, with a track record of navigating change
* Strong background in microelectronics, electronics, hardware, software, and control system design
* Experience in hybrid or mixed-signal test design is a plus
* Familiarity with Aerospace/Defence standards (AS9100, Mil-Std)
* Degree in Electrical, Electronic, or Systems Engineering; postgraduate qualifications (e.g., MBA) are a plus
* Exceptional organizational and communication skills, confident in presenting to stakeholders
