We require a General Maintenance Person for our care home in Broxburn
Your role is key to ensuring the safety of the home, and will encompass planned and regulatory safety checks across the home as per the home timetable, therefore you must be familiar with fire, legionella and mandatory building H&S requirements, and along side this, we are looking for someone who is cheerful, kind and who can prioritise and juggle a busy workload.
As well as the scheduled safety checks, you will be required to undertake essential maintenance around the home, along with working to a continual refurbishment and improvement programme.
This will include:
* painting and wallpapering etc. of communal areas as well as bedroom areas.
* Plumbing
* DIY
* Gardening
* Basic Electrical work
* Joinery skills
* Ideally carpet and hard flooring fitting skills.
You will need to be able to evidence these skills by giving details of previous projects, either through photographic or testimonials and by referees who you have previously worked with.
Ideally we are looking for someone who is willing to work with us to continually improve the care home environment and therefore improve the quality of life for our residents
Hours 40/week.(generally M-F, but will be required to attend call out in cases of emergency)
A clear PVG (Disclosure Scotland) essential.
