We are recruiting two full-time substantive Band 7 CAMHS Clinicians to work within the Adolescent Mental
Health Team (AMHT) in South Bedfordshire and Luton.
We are seeking an enthusiastic, experienced, and motivated Qualified Mental Health Clinician (such as a
Clinical Psychologist, Registered Mental Health Nurse, or Family Therapist) to join our established MDT
within a busy and diverse Child and Adolescent Mental Health Service.
The post holder should have both expertise and a passion for working with adolescents and their families,
particularly those presenting with complex mental health difficulties
Main duties of the job
The AMHT is a well-functioning multi-disciplinary team within South Bedfordshire CAMHS. The team includes
Psychiatrists, Mental Health Nurses, a Systemic Family Therapist, a Clinical Psychologist, an Occupational
Therapist, and a Child & Adolescent Psychotherapist.
The team model includes both joint and individual work with young people and their families. We offer a
range of interventions, including:
- Therapeutic care coordination
- Systemic family therapy
- Individual therapy (CBT, psychoanalytic psychotherapy, narrative therapy)
- Psychiatric assessment and management

Qualifications
Essential criteria
1. Qualification in Family Therapy, Clinical Psychology, Nursing, Counselling Psychology, Social Work, or equivalent
Experience
Essential criteria
2. •Experience working with children, adolescents, and families
3. •Experience in a CAMHS setting
4. •Experience using specialist clinical skills for therapeutic interventions
5. •Experience with psychosis, high-risk, and complex cases
Desirable criteria
6. •Experience in MDT and joint working
7. •Experience providing care coordination within CPA
8. •Experience working with diverse populations
Knowledge
Essential criteria
9. •Knowledge of psychosis and other mental health difficulties
10. •Understanding of adolescent development
11. •Highly developed interpersonal and therapeutic skills
12. •Ability to adapt communication for adolescents with communication difficulties
Desirable criteria
13. •Knowledge of working with neurodevelopmental disorders
14. •Knowledge of relevant legislation, NICE guidelines, and mental health frameworks
