Overview
Willmotts Transport is one of the largest independent warehousing and distribution companies in the South West, based in Waterlip just outside of Shepton Mallet. This field-based role is to develop new business and nurture existing client relationships within the South West region. Reporting to the Head of Sales and Customer Services, the Area Sales Representative will support the next phase of our business development.
Responsibilities
* Identify and pursue new business opportunities across various sectors in the South West.
* Build and maintain strong relationships with existing clients.
* Conduct potential client visits, presentations and negotiations.
* Conduct market and competitor research to support lead generation and business growth initiatives.
* Maintain and manage the sales pipeline, ensuring data accuracy and timely follow-up with leads.
* Provide administrative support to the wider Sales team as needed.
* Oversee and execute the business marketing strategy inclusive of all social media platforms.
Qualifications and Skills
* Proven experience in B2B sales, ideally within logistics, transport or related industries.
* Self-motivated with a proactive approach to sales.
* Proficient in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint) and CRM tools (e.g., Salesforce).
* Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
* Attention to detail and strong time management skills.
* A proactive and professional approach to internal and external communication.
Employment details
* Hours of Work: Monday to Friday, 08:30 – 17:30.
* Salary Range: £35,000 to £45,000 per annum plus monthly commission bonus.
* Annual bonus based upon business profitability.
* Company Car.
* Workplace Salary Exchange Pension.
* 28 days holiday inclusive of Bank Holidays; after 2 years’ unbroken service, additional holiday entitlement increases up to a maximum of 3 extra days.
