The people we support have diverse interests and abilities, so a flexible and energetic approach to working is essential. At various times, you may be supporting individuals or groups of people, either within the service or as part of the wider community.
Assist the relevant client group in the performance of practical tasks, including shopping and community activities as appropriate to promote independence.
Undertake personal care duties as required to the relevant client group which will typically include toileting, washing, feeding and manual handling (including hoisting) and transfer.
Undertake domestic tasks, such as cleaning and laundry.
Comply with Health and Safety requirements in respect of manual handling and transfer hoisting and the use of protective equipment to aid infection control.
Participate in organised activities to meet client group needs, such as excursions, basic food preparation and domestic tasks.
Ability to follow care plans and instructions.
Commitment to the achievement of quality standards
Understanding of personal/physical care needs.
Preferable Level 2 in Health & Social Care (not essential)
Preferable experience in supporting individuals with learning disabilities (not essential)
