Overview
Drainage Engineer role within Neighbourly, a group of home service brands including Drain Doctor. The role involves attending domestic and commercial sites, investigating wastewater works, resolving issues for customers, and making appropriate recommendations.
Key Responsibilities
* Liaising with commercial and domestic customers on site.
* Customer service – engaging with customers in a professional manner.
* Investigating and diagnosing issues via site surveys.
* Advising customers on solutions and implementing them, which may include:
o Drain clearance
o De-scaling and root cutting
o Performing minor excavations and patch lining
o Preventative maintenance
* Use of high-pressure water jetters, CCTV camera survey equipment and rods.
* Identifying potential concerns and making recommendations to customers for additional work.
* Interpreting and working with drainage drawings; operating independently within areas of expertise.
* Review and adhere to RAMS before commencing work; identify and mitigate risks; comply with health and safety regulations.
* Drive brand awareness through professional appearance, interactions and technical knowledge.
* Share knowledge and best practice with colleagues.
* Provide input to Regional Development Managers to support regional success.
* Help resolve operational, performance, or compliance issues within the territory to safeguard the brand’s reputation.
* Comply with current legislation and regulations as required.
* Establish urgency to complete tasks efficiently and accurately, underpinned by solid KPIs.
* Any other reasonable duty within your capabilities.
Experience / Skills / Knowledge
* 1 year’s experience in the drainage sector.
* Ideally 1 year’s experience in plumbing.
* Technical expertise in drainage and related functions.
* Drainage tanker experience (preferred).
* Full clean UK driving licence with flexibility to travel.
* CSCS card holder preferred.
* Able to use a mobile phone (calls, photos, email) and CRM applications.
Skills / Knowledge
* Background in drainage engineering.
* HPWJ (high-pressure water jetting) certification.
* Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
* A DBS check will be part of the onboarding process.
* Ability to work on-call providing a 24-hour service.
