A specialist secondary school located in a quiet rural village near Andover is seeking a passionate and dedicated Art Teacher to join their team. The school caters to young people aged 12 to 18 who have Asperger’s Syndrome and Autism, providing a nurturing and supportive environment tailored to their unique learning needs.
The successful candidate will deliver creative and inclusive art lessons that help students express themselves and develop new skills, supporting their personal growth and emotional wellbeing. The school values a calm, patient, and understanding approach, recognising the individual strengths and challenges of each student.
Key Responsibilities:
* Plan and deliver engaging art lessons tailored to the needs of pupils with Autism Spectrum Conditions and Asperger’s Syndrome.
* Collaborate with specialist staff to create a safe and encouraging learning environment.
* Support pupils’ social and emotional development through creative activities.
Candidate Requirements:
* Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) is essential.
* Willingness to obtain an Enhanced DBS certificate.
* Experience or a keen interest in working with children with special educational needs, particularly Autism and Asperger’s Syndrome.
* A flexible and empathetic approach to teaching and supporting young people.
* Due to the school's remote rural location, a driving licence and access to a vehicle are highly recommended as public transport options are limited.

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
