Position Title: Tendering Engineer – Energy Infrastructure
Salary: £65,000 - £85,000 + Benefits
Location: Flexible across UK (Hybrid or remote)
Your New Employer
This rapidly growing energy infrastructure company has expanded to around 100 employees in just few years, while still maintaining the culture of a supportive, close-knit team. Headquartered in Scotland, they deliver projects across Data centres, EV charging, solar, battery storage and high-voltage grid connections up to 132kV. With a strong focus on employee development, they invest heavily in training, provide quarterly career reviews, and even support employees in pursuing further university education. Their culture is built on progression, feedback and visibility, giving individuals the chance to make a real impact.
Your New Role
As Tendering Engineer reporting directly to the Operations Director and acting as technical lead for tendering and design. You will take responsibility for assembling and delivering tender packages, overseeing deeper design, and managing commercial assessments. This will include developing substation layouts, producing SLDs and schematics, working on primary design for transformers, switchgear and protection & control, and supporting civil and interface works with DNOs. While you will work closely with DNOs, you will also have greater control over the process to avoid project delays. Initially, you will operate independently, but as the business continues to expand there will be the opportunity to build and lead a team around you.
Your Background
You will bring proven experience as an Electrical Engineer or qualification similar to that with a strong track record in high-voltage design and tendering across 33kV to 132kV projects. A solid understanding of the UK grid process, alongside hands-on involvement in substation design, schematics, cost estimation and commercial oversight is essential. With the ability to work independently and manage technical and commercial processes, you will be ambitious, self-driven, and ready to step into a role with genuine progression towards future management responsibility.
In Return
Alongside a salary of up to £85,000, this company offers 35 days holiday, enhanced maternity and paternity leave, hybrid/remote working with visits to HQ once a fortnight, and regular company events. With clear career pathways, investment in training, and a culture of progression, you will have the opportunity to develop your career while making a visible impact on major infrastructure projects from day one.
