What your typical day will look like Your focus is to provide exceptional service to our clients and the best care possible to their pets, providing a key link between clients and the clinical team. Your great client manner during a client's visit will ensure that they leave having had a positive experience and look forward to their next visit. You will greet each client and offer support, guidance and expertise, managing payments and future bookings confidently. Your role is pivotal to coordinating the smooth running of the day-to-day routines of the practice. Your day will involve: Communicating with clients face to face in a busy environment. Answering phones quickly and effectively, dealing with all our client enquires. Booking appointments, registering new clients and pets, requesting and processing payments. Entering data accurately in our practice management software. Dealing with email enquiries. Managing the diary daily. Ensuring the reception area meets our hygiene standards. Cashing up each day. Join a fantastic team of 9 receptionists with the support of our experienced Practice Manager and Finance Manager and a large clinical team of Vets, Veterinary Nurses and Veterinary Care Assistants. What We're Looking For: You are the friendly and welcoming face for the client and their pets when they arrive at the practice. You bring enthusiasm and drive to your work. Your passion for good service is matched with your love of pets. You have a proactive can-do attitude and strong problem-solving skills. You are able to multi-task, answering a ringing phone whilst finalising a payment and remaining calm when five people all arrive at once! Because of your strong communication skills, you can deal with everything that is thrown at you, from comforting a client who has had some bad news about their pet, to sharing in the joy of a new puppy's first visit to the vet. Experience in a veterinary setting is not essential but you must enjoy learning and you are quick to pick up new information. You are competent with computer skills and able to learn new systems quickly. You are comfortable communicating via email and telephone, as well as face-to-face. You contribute to creating a welcoming and friendly atmosphere in your place of work. You have pride in your environment and contribute towards keeping things clean, tidy and organised. In return, we offer: Salary dependent on experience We're ideally looking for full time (up to 40 hours per week). We would consider part-time hours for the right candidate. We are open 8am - 8pm on weekdays, 9am - 6pm on Saturdays and 10am - 4pm on Sundays with longer days broken into shifts.
