SQL Commercial Finance Analyst

We’re working with a fast-growing organisation who are looking for a SQL Commercial Analyst to sit between data engineering and commercial analysis. You’ll own the SQL data environment and turn raw data into insight that drives decision-making across finance, operations, and leadership. This is a high-ownership role with exposure across the business and real impact on how data is used.
What You’ll Be Doing
* Build and maintain a scalable SQL data warehouse
* Develop and manage data pipelines ensuring accuracy and consistency
* Analyse key commercial drivers including revenue, pricing, volume, and margin
* Translate complex data into clear, actionable business insight
* Build finance forecasting models based on historical data
* Produce Excel outputs including:
* Variance analysis
* Performance bridges
* Commercial summaries
* Partner with stakeholders to translate business questions into structured analysis
* Support integration of new data sources as the business scales
What We’re Looking For
* Strong SQL skills (complex queries, joins, aggregations, large datasets)
* Experience with data warehouses and data modelling
* Advanced Excel skills (financial modelling and reporting)
* Strong commercial finance awareness and ability to link data to business performance
* Self-sufficient and comfortable working independently
Desirable Experience
* Fast-growth or multi-entity environments
* Power BI or similar BI tools
* ERP/CRM systems
