Are you an experienced Design Engineer ready to take the lead on high‑impact automotive projects? We're looking for a Senior Design Engineer to join our growing team, taking ownership of the design and development of Body Panel Inserts and leading a high‑performing design team from concept through to final customer sign‑off.
What You'll Be Doing
Lead the design and engineering of Body Panel Inserts, ensuring robust, manufacturable, and cost‑effective solutions.
Manage and mentor a small design team, providing technical leadership, design reviews, and development guidance.
Act as the primary customer interface for all project communication, including progress updates, design evolution, issue resolution, and timing alignment.
Drive design changes based on customer feedback, engineering analysis, and functional requirements.
Own the final design sign‑off process, ensuring all specifications, standards, and customer expectations are fully met.
Work cross‑functionally with manufacturing, tooling, quality, and project management teams to deliver programs on time.
Support DFMEA, DVP, CAD modelling, drawings, and release activities in line with automotive standards.
Qualifications
Strong background in automotive body structures or trim, ideally with Body Panel Insert experience.
Proven capability leading design teams or mentoring junior engineers.
Confident communicator with experience leading customer-facing technical discussions.
Proficient in industry CAD systems (Catia V5/V6, NX, or similar).
Understanding of GD&T, DFM, DFA, materials, and production processes.
A proactive, solution-focused engineer who thrives in a fast-paced environment

40 hour week standard shift pattern Monday - Friday
