Job summary
We are recruiting for a compassionate and approachable Family Worker to join our team in the Lancashire Young Persons service. The role involves providing information and advice to families regarding substance misuse and its impact on the family.
Main duties of the job
As a Family Worker, you will support parents with substance misuse issues, raise awareness, and improve access to appropriate services, primarily using Motivational Interviewing techniques. You will offer ongoing support through 1:1 or group sessions, develop strong relationships with clients and their families, manage an active caseload, and ensure continuity of care.

Person Specification
Qualifications
* OCN/NVQ Level 3 or equivalent, or willing to achieve within 12 months
* Full UK driving license and access to a vehicle
* Suitable for roles requiring a satisfactory enhanced DBS check
Experience
* Experience working with families and young people on substance use
* Experience delivering group work or presentations
* Experience completing assessments and care plans
* Continuous professional development
* Strong relationship-building skills
* Ability to work independently and in a team
* Good organisational skills and ability to manage workload
* Excellent communication skills, including engaging presentations
* Accurate record-keeping and IT skills
* Experience in health, social care, or substance misuse settings is desirable
