The PA Group are a highly respectable and growing asbestos company, forming part of the RSK Group, providing professional services to a mixed portfolio of clients. We are now looking for a Trainee Asbestos Lab Analyst to join our busy laboratory based in Dartford, UK.
The Role

You’ll learn on the job and via specialist training modules, at the end of which you will have the opportunity to obtain professional qualifications and authorisation to work as a qualified Asbestos Laboratory Analyst.
Responsibilities
* Undertaking of sample analysis within the laboratory to ascertain asbestos content in building materials.
* Undergoing in-house training towards professional BOHS Proficiency Module qualifications in asbestos laboratory analytical work (BOHS P401).
* Learning to log technical data.
* Adherence to accreditation requirements and aspects which underpin our Quality, Health, Safety and Environmental systems.
* Self-motivated learning in conjunction with support from your mentor.
* Any other reasonable duties as requested by members of the Quality team.
Main responsibilities/duties
* Receiving and appropriately logging samples received by the laboratory.
* Preparing samples for analysis.
* Carrying out analysis of samples for fibre content.
* Reporting analytical findings.
* Ensuring appropriate storage and retention of samples.
* Generating certificates of analysis and issuing to clients, and getting involved with other general laboratory and administrative duties.
* Pre-checking asbestos survey reports.
Person Specification
In general, the applicant will be flexible, have good work ethic and have the ability to carry out the work effectively and within required turnaround times. The following would be beneficial but not essential:
* Teams (Surveying Software)
* Floor Plan Creator
* Computer Literate
Salary and Benefits
* Salary in excess of £25,000 Depending on experience
