Who you’ll be supporting & more about the role:

** Advanced Support Worker – Falkirk (Camelon) **

Full-time (36 hrs) and part-time (24 hrs) roles available

If you’re someone who naturally goes the extra mile and genuinely enjoys helping others live their best lives, this could be the perfect role for you.

We’re looking for a proactive, friendly Advanced Support Worker to join our team in the Falkirk area, supporting a young man who lives in his own home in Camelon. He has complex needs, including a learning disability and Autism spectrum disorder, and he thrives with people who bring calmness and patience, but who are able to work through challenging times by maintaining strong boundaries.

Previous experience supporting people with complex needs is essential.

We’re looking for someone who can not only provide excellent support but also share their knowledge and help strengthen the whole team. An SVQ 3 in Health & Social Care would be highly desirable.

About the person you’ll support

He communicates non‑verbally, so being able to read body language and subtle cues is important. He responds best to people who are consistent, respectful of boundaries, and able to create a safe, reassuring environment.

He enjoys:

19. Going out in the car
20. Getting out into the community
21. Planning new adventures (he would like to plan a holiday soon!)

Your support will help him stay safe, explore new activities, and enjoy a fulfilling daily routine.

What you’ll support him with

22. Medication administration and epilepsy management
23. Cooking, shopping, and meal planning
24. Full support with personal care
25. Maintaining his home and managing finances
26. Finding and taking part in meaningful activities

Shift patterns

27. 8am – 8pm (2:1 support)
28. 8pm – 8am (1:1 support)

Shifts include days, weekends, bank holidays, and waking nights and all staff should be available to share these shifts to ensure fairness for all.

Requirements

29. A UK driving licence (you’ll be driving an automatic mobility car)
30. Minimum age 21 (insurance requirement)
31. Experience supporting people with complex disabilities
32. A calm, gentle approach with clear boundaries

What we offer

33. A role where your work genuinely changes someone’s life
34. A supportive team that values your experience
35. Full-time or part-time hours
36. A varied, meaningful job where no two days are the same
We are passionate about our people and every year we invest heavily in our front-line worker pay, in line with the Living Wage increase each April. This means that from 1st April, our payrate for this role will be increasing to £15.18 per hour

Your values:

Respect, patience and understanding are key as the young man you'll be supporting is adjusting to a new home environment. It's important to take the time to understand him in order to support him to live a fantastic life as independently as possible.

Prior experience supporting people with complex needs is essential, as we're looking for our Advanced Support Workers to share their knowledge and experience within the team.
