Sateba UK seeking a detail-oriented and strategic Senior Buyer to join our procurement team, based in Ilkeston Derbyshire. The ideal candidate will be responsible for managing the purchasing process, negotiating with suppliers, and ensuring the timely delivery of goods and services.
The Senior Buyer will work with Quality/Technical/others to define and communicate appropriate standards and specifications to suppliers, and ensure that these are complied with
The Senior Buyer will play a crucial role in optimising our inventory levels and enhancing our merchandising strategies.
Responsibilities
* Handle the procurement of materials, plant, sub-contract, and services requirements across the business.
* Maximise the use of existing and new framework agreements
* Management of the PPE laundry contract
* Ensure procurement activities comply with the business's governance and procurement processes and procedures.
* Work closely with the wider business, including the Safety, Commercial, Finance and Operations teams to ensure procurement activity supports the business objectives.
* Comply with all client and Group and Site policies, including ethical guidelines.
* Report individual procurement activities and performance against department KPIs.
* Overall management of the stores function & team.
* Work with the business with the selection of the right suppliers and to implement the relevant framework
* Provide assistance and support to the business as required to ensure efficient fulfilment of purchase requirements.
* Provide feedback to suppliers, and hold same to account, for supply of goods and services to specification, and follow up as appropriate.
* Work to ensure best value for money of all goods & services procured.
Requirements
* Proven experience as a Buyer or Senior Buyer within a similar industry.
* Strong negotiation skills with a track record of successful supplier negotiations.
* In-depth knowledge of supply chain processes and logistics management.
* Understanding of low carbon solutions and sustainability practices in procurement.
* Excellent analytical skills with the ability to interpret data for decision-making purposes.
* Strong communication skills, both verbal and written, with the ability to build relationships at all levels.
* A proactive approach to problem-solving with attention to detail.
Qualifications:
* Bachelor's degree and/or professional qualifications in procurement/supply chain management (e.g., CIPS)
* IOSH safety training
