Description About the job: Kent are looking for a Graduate Structural Engineer to be based in Aberdeen, Bristol, Edinburgh, Glasgow or London. As a graduate in one of our locations, you will be contributing to a variety of technically challenging and exciting projects, from designing new offshore wind farms, sub-stations and floating concept designs, to helping clients improve their operational efficiency as part of our asset integrity management offerings, developing carbon capture and storage solutions, and even offshore visits to our client’s global installations. Unleash your energy Skills & Responsibilities: You’ll be joining a team with 5 locations around the UK with a global outreach, that actively encourage and foster innovative solutions and new approaches to our client’s problems. Your work could involve the following: Assessing and designing small and large scale multi-disciplinary greenfield and brownfield Oil & Gas projects as well as the next phase of the world’s offshore wind farms, whether that’s floating or fixed foundations or Offshore Substations, from concepts right through to operation. Developing life extension plans for ageing structures in the Oil & Gas market as well as power boosts and life extensions for Offshore Wind Turbine Structures. Improving efficiency offshore through inspection activities, development of risk-based inspection work scopes, risk ranking and review of anomalies, and operational support. Creating and interrogating finite element models in our advanced structural analysis teams using a variety of software and programming languages. Determining the fatigue and fracture reliability of structures with our highly specialised experts. Interfacing directly with clients, representing our teams to discuss engineering solutions to complex problems. Supporting our external markets, business development and work winning activities. Working as part of an integrated team, ensuring client interaction and project delivery from multiple locations. In addition to the responsibilities listed herein, the employee may be required to perform other ad-hoc tasks as needed or directed by the supervisor or management. These tasks will be within the reasonable scope of the employee's skills, capabilities, and role within the organization. Your knowledge/skills, education, and experience: Master’s degree in Civil, Mechanical, Aeronautical or Structural Engineering. Communication: Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to engage effectively with others in the team as well as clients. Excellent command of the English language in both oral and written communication and skills. Behaviour/ Core Competencies: High level of MS Office skills, including Word, Excel, Outlook & Teams. Flexible, enthusiastic and methodical in your approach to project work. Self-motivated & comfortable taking responsibility across a range of tasks. A desire to work collaboratively with a curious approach, challenging yourself to find new solutions. Enthusiasm and drive to develop your skillset and seek out development opportunities within a supportive team. A passion for working in a consultancy environment.
