Band 6 Deputy Manager – Adult Learning Disabilities Residential Home
Applications are invited from committed and experienced Registered Nurses, Allied Health Professionals or Social Workers to join the Severe & Profound Adult Learning Disabilities Residential Home team as Band 6 Deputy Manager within the Adult Learning Disabilities Service on the beautiful Island of Guernsey, in the Channel Islands. This Home provides support to service users with severe and profound learning disabilities, complex physical and sensory disabilities, and behaviour that challenges within a community setting, including those who require 24 hour care.
Responsibilities
* Undertake the assessment of service users with complex needs.
* Guide, advise and direct other staff in the assessment, planning, implementation and evaluation of care received by service users.
* Contribute to the recruitment and retention of team members.
* Undertake the professional development review process with identified team members, supporting staff with performance issues to develop plans addressing developmental needs.
* Act as a professional role model for junior staff, promoting high standards of practice and strong professional values.
* Act up as necessary in the absence of the manager.
Salary and Benefits
Guernsey has adopted the AfC banding system, but has applied its own salary scale. The Guernsey Band 6 salary range is £47,860 to £64,615 plus an annual bonus of £1,747 and higher unsocial hours enhancements: 36% for evening/Saturday and 72% for Sunday/BH. Annual leave starts at 36 to 42 days with full credit for NHS or Local Authority service for annual leave and sick leave.

Person Requirements
* Registered Nurse, Social Worker or Allied Health Professional with full UK professional registration.
* Post-graduate experience leading a Learning Disabilities service at senior Band 5 or Band 6-equivalent level.
* Completion of a recognised Teaching and Assessing / Mentorship qualification.
* To hold a UK driving licence.
