Fostering Support Worker
in

Your responsibilities will include being involved in children's participation events, coordinating group activities, and supporting the team in preparing children and young people for foster care placements. Accurate record keeping of visits and one-to-one sessions is essential, as is promoting the health and wellbeing of the children and young people.
You will be involved in participation events with our children, where you will be coordinating group work and activities in a skilled, focused way as part of our agreed programme, supporting the hybrid working team in preparing the children and young people for their foster care placements, being a large part of recruitment, supporting our children with transport. You must be able to record visits/one-to-one work effectively and promote the health and well-being of the children and young people.
You will support our families throughout the Doncaster, Scunthorpe, Leeds and Rotherham area.
As a fostering support worker, you will be part of a team putting children and young people at the forefront of your decisions.
You need to be flexible, proactive, and able to communicate with children and adults. As well as having experience working with Children and Young People. Prior work within the fostering sector would be desirable. No formal social work qualifications are necessary but understanding and empathy for the work required are necessary.
You need to be able to drive for this role and have access to a car, be flexible as you may need to work occasional evenings and weekends and be committed to therapeutic training.

Hours
This is a Part-Time role of 22 hours per week.
You will need to be flexible for this role as you may need to work weekends & evenings.

Requirements • Well-written and IT skills. • Able to actively listen to others and working part of a team. • Being patient and having empathy skills. • Understanding of safeguarding. • Valid Driving Licence. • Have the Right to Work in the UK. • Therapeutic direct work with children, young people and carers is preferred but not essential as training is given.
