We are seeking a motivated and enthusiastic person to support the Pharmacy Aseptic Services in providing chemotherapy to patients within the Trust.
We are looking for a qualified technician with experience to join our small, friendly team. You will have recent hospital or aseptic experience, good communication skills, and a solid knowledge of Good Manufacturing Practice. Experience in teamwork, staff supervision, training others, and work planning is essential.

Detailed job description and main responsibilities
Note: Newly qualified technicians are encouraged to apply; full training will be provided.
Key tasks include:
Assisting and supervising the provision of chemotherapy and supportive medication, ensuring safety and accuracy, and working under the supervision of the Chief Technician & Accountable Pharmacist.
Main duties
* Assist in providing a safe, efficient, and high-quality aseptic pharmacy service.
* Assist in dispensing supportive medication safely and efficiently.
* Encourage adherence to aseptic procedures and GMP standards.
* Maintain knowledge of procedures, guidelines, and legislation.
* Participate in writing, reviewing, and updating SOPs and QA documentation.
* Communicate daily with pharmacists, production staff, and ward staff to manage workflow.
* Participate in pharmacy team meetings.
* Problem-solve issues such as stock supply, staff, equipment, and capacity while maintaining service quality and safety.

Qualifications
* NVQ3
* GPhC registration as a Pharmacy Technician (by start date)
* ACPT and/or PAAP accreditation
Skills
* Teamwork skills
* Training abilities
* Clear, literate writing skills
Experience
* Recent hospital or aseptic unit experience
* Knowledge of cytotoxic handling
* Stock control experience (rotation, ordering)
* Experience manufacturing aseptically prepared products, including validations
* Experience working in multidisciplinary teams

* Handling hazardous products safely
* Importance of quality issues
