About the Role

The Clinical Midwife Manager in Hawke’s Bay plays a pivotal leadership role in coordinating and supporting a dedicated team of midwives who are committed to delivering equitable, culturally responsive, and clinically excellent care. This position involves strategic oversight of staff rostering to ensure safe and effective coverage, fostering a positive team culture, and driving continuous improvement in maternity services. By championing inclusive care practices and maintaining high clinical standards, the Clinical Midwife Manager helps ensure that every birthing person and whānau receives compassionate and high-quality care.

About you

* New Zealand Registered Midwife with a current Annual Practicing Certificate.
* Demonstrated clinical credibility including a solid understanding of the New Zealand Maternity Model of Care and Section 88 (of which 5+ years should have been at a secondary/ tertiary maternity facility)
* A commitment to continuous improvement, using data and whānau voice to lead improvement initiatives
* Visionary leadership skills – the ability to inspire a shared purpose and set clear goals that align with high quality, whānau centred care
* Completed, or currently undertaking, appropriate postgraduate study
