What you'll do
As the Assistant Accountant, you will work directly with the Finance Manager and wider finance team to support month-end reporting and day-to-day financial operations. Your responsibilities will include:
7. Bank reconciliations
8. Preparation and submission of VAT returns
9. Completing Intrastat reports and other statutory filings
10. Stock control and reconciliation of stock movements
11. Managing the creditors ledger: processing invoices, reconciling supplier accounts, and preparing payments
12. Overseeing the debtors ledger: allocating payments, chasing outstanding debts, and issuing statements
13. Credit control: maintaining good relationships with customers while ensuring timely payments
14. Supporting with month-end reporting, journals, accruals, and prepayments
15. Assisting with management accounts preparation and financial reporting
16. General ledger maintenance and reconciliation tasks
About you
17. Part-qualified (ACCA, CIMA, or IATI or equivalent (QBE))
18. 2+ years of experience in a similar finance role, ideally within manufacturing or a fast-paced environment
19. Strong Excel skills
20. Experience with ERP/accounting systems (SAP, Sage, or similar)
21. Excellent attention to detail and analytical skills
22. Strong communication skills and ability to work cross-functionally
23. Proactive, driven, and eager to learn and grow with the business
