We design, manufacture and support military large-calibre weapon systems used by the British Army and international customers. RWM UK is now starting a new production site in Telford.
About The Role
RWM UK is now starting a new production site in Telford and we are recruiting for
Quality Measurement Specialist
who will be in responsible for measurement of parts, primarily barrels and breech blocks, for large-calibre weapon systems.
Position Responsibilities:
* Inspection of mechanically processed components during and after production using hand-held measuring instruments, testing, electronic measuring devices or 3D measuring machines, e.g. Zeiss Prismo or similar
* Testing components in accordance with test instructions, including the preparation of corresponding test reports
* Feedback of test procedures and results to the BDE system
What Qualifications You Should Have
Essential:
* Completed vocational training as an industrial mechanic, CNC-operator or comparable
* At least 2 years of professional experience, ideally in the dimensional inspection of mechanically machined components
* Confident in reading complex technical drawings and creating measurement concepts
* Experience in using conventional and electronic measuring equipment, ideally experience in operating Zeiss 3D measuring machines and Calypso measuring software
* Structured and independent way of working, team and communication skills, flexibility and reliability
* Motivated to set up a new production for large calibre weapons systems in the UK (Telford)
Desired:
* Crane and forklift licence
* Professional experience in defence industry
