Role
We are seeking an experienced and confident Assistant Accountant who can hit the ground running and support the wider accounts team. This role will suit someone who is proactive, detail‑driven, and capable of managing a variety of tasks in a fast‑paced environment.
Key Responsibilities
* Supporting month‑end processes, including journals, accruals, and prepayments
* Balance sheet reconciliations and investigation of variances
* Assisting with the preparation of management accounts
* Maintaining accurate financial records and ensuring compliance with internal controls
* Assisting with budgeting, forecasting, and analysis as required
* Processing invoices, expenses, and supplier payments
* Supporting year‑end audit preparation
* Ad hoc financial tasks to support the Finance Manager and wider team
Desirable Skills & Experience
* AAT Level 4 qualified (essential)
* Strong technical accounting knowledge
* Confident, proactive, and able to work independently
* Excellent attention to detail and organisational skills
* Strong Excel skills and experience with accounting systems
* Ability to communicate effectively with both finance and non‑finance stakeholders
* Prior experience in a growing or fast‑paced business environment is advantageous
