This is an exciting opportunity for individuals wanting to continue their career in psychology. HMP Millsike is a brand-new Category C Resettlement Prison in York, and Mitie aims to influence from the very start the creation of a positive, rehabilitative, and restorative culture for both staff and prisoners. As a Registered Forensic Psychologist (RFP), you will be part of and contribute to this vision.
You will work directly with prisoners, staff, and various stakeholders under the supervision of a Principal Psychologist.
You will be accountable for ensuring psychological services are delivered ethically and professionally, in line with the Health Professions Council (HPC) Standards of Proficiency, HPC Standards of Performance and Ethics, and the British Psychological Society (BPS) Code of Ethics and Conduct. You will also oversee, deliver standards, and manage Trainee Psychologists, reporting to the Principal Psychologist.

The candidate must be a Registered Practitioner Psychologist with the HPC, eligible to use a protected title, likely a Chartered Psychologist, and a Full member of the appropriate BPS division. They should have been registered for over two years and be eligible for Associate Fellowship of the BPS. Supervisory experience and providing professional supervision for trainee/assistant psychologists are required. Experience with the Parole Board system and the ability to produce high-standard reports are essential.
Preferred candidates are registered as Forensic Psychologists under HCPC modalities, with a preference for RAPP registration (Register of Applied Psychology Practice Supervisors).
