Overview
An exciting opportunity has arisen to join the Council Support team as a Business Support Co-ordinator (BSC). This key role involves line-managing a team of administration staff who provide essential support to a range of Council services.

Hourly rate of pay: £17.72 - £19.19
Temporary for 12 months.
Days And Hours Of Work
Monday - Friday. Flexi time is applicable, and starting and finishing times are flexible. To start asap.
Key Responsibilities
* Line management of team, ensuring effective performance, development, and support.
* Overseeing the delivery of high-quality administrative and operational support across multiple service areas.
* Ensuring the smooth day-to-day running of support functions within the Infrastructure team.
* Supporting continuous improvement and service efficiency initiatives.
* Collaborating with senior managers and service leads to align support with operational needs.
Essential Skills And Experience
* Proven supervisory or line management experience, ideally within a public sector or administrative environment.
* Strong organisational and communication skills.
* Ability to manage competing priorities and lead a team through change.
* A proactive and solution-focused approach to service delivery.
* Proficiency in Microsoft Office and general IT systems.
Work Environment
The successful candidate will be office-based initially at John Muir House, Haddington with the potential to explore hybrid working arrangements in the future, subject to service requirements and performance.

* Job Requirements: Relevant Qualifications
* Educated to HNC or SVQ Level 3 in relevant discipline (e.g., administration) or demonstrate equivalent knowledge, skills and competencies.
* Level 1 Disclosure Clearance: This role requires Level 1 Disclosure Clearance to allow access to the Public Sector Network. East Lothian Council will submit a Police Act Disclosure application on behalf of the preferred candidate and receipt of the certificate will be required prior to commencement.
