Job summary: Clerical Officer, Band 2 Up to 37.5 hrs available.
Based at the Cumberland Infirmary, Carlisle, we are seeking a motivated Clerical Officer to join our friendly, supportive and hardworking team in the Radiology Department.
The purpose of the Clerical Officer is to provide administrative support within the busy Radiology (X-ray) Department and CT/MRI receptions, the work includes reception duties, managing patient appointments, answering patient enquiries, image and medical records handling, use of computers and data input. The Clerical Officers are involved in liaising with many NHS professionals, support staff and the general public to ensure an efficient and effective service.
Main duties of the job
You will be a cheerful, versatile and helpful team-worker, literate and methodical, with excellent communication skills, able to relate well to people and put them at ease. You must be educated to GCSE level or equivalent.
Flexibility with regard to days and hours, plus experience in an office environment are essential - this post will include weekend and evening work on a rotational basis to meet service need.
The post will be based at the Cumberland Infirmary, Carlisle but the post holder (as with all of our posts) may be required to work at other sites within the Trust.
The post holder will be expected to be flexible and open to changes, to identify opportunities for improvement and to play an active role in developing, implementing and sustaining improvements to working practices and patient services.
