Nursery Assistant Role at Congleton
Prospero Teaching is seeking a confident and knowledgeable Nursery Assistant to join a successful primary school in Congleton. This is a great opportunity for a Nursery Assistant to secure a long-term role where they can contribute to the development of children and be part of a dynamic staff team. The role is full-time, starting in September, and will continue for a full academic year.
The school has a generous and positive staff team committed to providing children with an inspirational and broad educational experience. Children are offered a wide range of learning and play opportunities and are encouraged to be independent learners. The successful candidate will provide specific support for one child with additional needs, possibly including autism, although undiagnosed due to the child's age. The role also involves working with groups and individuals on learning, play, and craft activities, contributing to daily classroom operations, resource creation, assessments, and behavior management.
This role will involve:
1. Providing support and interventions for children across all curriculum areas.
2. Leading activity groups in core areas such as Phonics, Reading, Maths, and Writing.
3. Working with individuals on learning and development activities.
4. Preparing resources and classroom areas.
5. Carrying out assessments and recording data.
6. Assisting with daily routines for children.
7. Engaging children in learning and play activities indoors and outdoors.
8. Liaising with parents.
9. Location: Congleton.
10. Duration: Ongoing.
11. Position: Nursery Assistant.
12. Hours: Full-time, 8:30 am to 3:30 pm daily.
Experience, Training, and Qualifications:
* Previous experience in a UK primary school setting.
* Supporting in Early Years, Supporting Teaching and Learning in Schools (Minimum Level 2), Education Studies Degree, Psychology Degree, or similar qualification.
* Up-to-date Safeguarding and Prevent training within the last 12 months (free online Safeguarding training with Prospero available if needed).
Eligibility Requirements:
* Right to Work in the UK.
* Enhanced DBS certificate registered with the online update service or willingness to process a new application (cost applicable).
* Provision of two professional references covering the past 2 years.
