About the Role
The Theatre Practitioner will focus on patient-centered care, managing the entire patient pathway from pre-admission through post-operative care. Responsibilities include preoperative assessment, diagnostics, and assisting in ophthalmic surgeries following AfPP guidelines.
Key Responsibilities
* Provide compassionate support to patients, families, and friends
* Prepare clinical areas for procedures
* Assist surgeons in ophthalmic surgeries
* Manage patient admission and discharge
* Demonstrate a proactive approach and a passion for quality care
* Maintain effective communication and teamwork
Candidate Requirements
* Previous theatre experience required; ophthalmic scrub experience preferred but not essential
* Qualified RN with NMC registration or ODP with HCPC registration, with at least 2 years post-qualification experience
* Relevant professional development and certifications
* Current knowledge of clinical practices
* Proficiency with computer systems and software
* Strong interpersonal skills and a passion for patient safety
