As an apprentice you'll be receiving practical and professional training right from the start. At Southampton City Council we are committed to paying Foundation Living Wage as a minimum and we believe apprentices should also be paid fairly. Your salary as an apprentice will be £24,795 annually and may increase in line with any national rise in Foundation Living Wage.
Although we can't guarantee you a permanent job at the end of your apprenticeship, we will support you to apply for other roles within the council, and help make sure you are ready for a wider job search with support from our Employment Skills team.

About The Role:
Our Service Support Officers are the first point of contact for all our customers and service areas. As a Service Support Officer, you will communicate well and take ownership to deliver excellent customer service. You will be the first point of contact for our customers, resolving queries, signposting people to the right place and ensuring all service requests are handled efficiently.
Our Service Support Officers work collaboratively across multi channels to maintain a high-quality service to all our customers. This is a fast-paced role in which high attention to detail is crucial in getting things right for our customers. We pride ourselves on listening to our customers and putting them at the heart of everything we do, so we want you to have a passion for helping people, with an ability to listen and show empathy to build rapport with your customers. This is a great role if you want to make a difference to people's lives and get involved in a wide range of services that support the city of Southampton.

About You:
You will be working towards the Level 3 Customer Service Specialist apprenticeship with Fareport. The duration of this apprenticeship is 15 months with 3 months for the End Point Assessment.

Salary: The salary band for this role is £24,795- £25,185. The starting salary is £24,795 with annual progression through the salary bands.
