Job summary


Are you a qualified or newly qualified nurse looking to take a new step in your nursing career?

Our Nurses are real life health care heroes, and we are seeking compassionate people with experience of working in a hospital environment to join our integrated trust.

We are looking for an enthusiastic and motivated Band 5 Staff Nurse to be an integral member of the GOPD team.

Can you provide patient centred care on a daily basis in the outpatient setting understanding the philosophy that the outpatients department is the 'window of the hospital'. If you can then we would love to hear from you.

Band 5 post holders will also provide clinical and managerial leadership of the GOPD in the absence of the Senior Sister and Senior Staff Nurse. We support learners on their chosen pathways, so experience of providing mentorship would be advantageous.

We value our RGNs highly, so development and training within this role will be offered and prioritised. There is an expectation that hours are worked flexibly over a rota basis.

You will require good communication skills, a team work approach and be able provide a high standard of nursing care with the support of your team.

Main duties, tasks & skills required


To provide and maintain a high standard of evidence based, patient centred care. To demonstrate good interpersonal skills and to develop practical skills required within the speciality, whist reflecting the philosophy of care.

To deliver patient care on a daily basis, using the systems in place in the department for a multi-disciplinary approach to patient-centred care delivery, which builds on the philosophy of greater involvement of patients and their relatives/carers by using the Trusts patient and public involvement strategy.

Experienced Band 5 post holders will also provide effective clinical and managerial leadership of the department, in the absence of the senior members of the team, which empowers staff to deliver patient- centred, evidence based nursing care
