About the role Heart of Supply is seeking a caring and proactive KS1 Teaching Assistant to join a welcoming primary school from January to July 2026, working Wednesday, Thursday and Friday each week. In this part-time role, you will support across Year 1 and Year 2 classes under the direction of the class teacher, helping pupils to engage in learning activities and providing targeted assistance through small group or one-to-one work. You’ll play an important role in supporting early literacy and numeracy skills, building confidence, and helping pupils develop positive learning habits. You will also contribute to maintaining a calm, happy and inclusive classroom environment, supporting positive behaviour and promoting pupils’ emotional wellbeing throughout the school day. Experience working as a Teaching Assistant in a primary setting is essential. Confidence supporting younger learners, alongside a warm, patient approach and the ability to build nurturing relationships with pupils and staff, will be key.
