Overview
Head of Infrastructure & Security at Fletchers Group leads the strategy, builds resilience and owns security across our technology platforms. Reporting to the Technology Director, this senior technology leader ensures day‑to‑day reliability, drives continuous improvement, and shapes long‑term strategy to support M&A activity and enable future growth for a modern law firm.
Responsibilities
* Define and execute technology strategy in partnership with the Technology Director, accountable for execution across on‑prem, Azure, identity, network, data, application and edge environments.
* Drive Zero Trust, least privilege and modern identity principles; manage non‑functional requirements (availability, performance, security, DR).
* Ensure reliable, secure BAU operation of the technology estate, meeting SLOs/SLAs, vulnerability & patch management, backup/restore and disaster recovery.
* Own ISMS‑aligned controls (ISO 27001, Cyber Essentials Plus), oversee threat detection & response with the SOC, and maintain audit readiness and evidence for internal/external audits.
* Serve as technical change authority for infrastructure & security, maintaining the release/change calendar and approving/rejecting changes based on risk, impact and readiness.
* Partner with the Head of Technical Projects on large change/M&A, acting as infra/security design authority and approving service acceptance into BAU.
* Lead and develop the infrastructure/security team, manage external partners (SOC, MSPs, vendors) and control budgets, licensing and cost performance.
* Provide clear risk, incident and compliance reporting to senior leadership and translate technical risk into business impact and actionable decisions.
Qualifications
* Prior senior IT leadership, delivering enterprise‑wide transformation and operational platforms.
* Full lifecycle platform/application change experience: architecture, integration, testing, upgrades and cutovers.
* Successful technology strategy development with C‑suite and board buy‑in.
* Commercial acumen, contract/vendor management and strong governance knowledge (ISO 27001, Cyber Essentials Plus).
* Proven ownership of security operations & governance (SIEM/XDR, incident response, vulnerability management).
* Strong Microsoft Azure skills (IaaS, PaaS, identity and hybrid environments).
* Experience with data migration, systems & cloud consolidation.
* Strong communicator translating technical solutions into clear business understanding.
Desirable Skills
* Knowledge of ISO 27001 and related certifications.
* Experience in the legal sector or other regulated industries.
* Infrastructure as Code & automation: PowerShell, Bicep/Terraform, GitHub/Azure DevOps pipelines.
* Data protection & governance: Microsoft Purview (DLP, retention, legal hold/eDiscovery).
* Experience with Proclaim or equivalent case management systems.
