Generate Dive Training Governance WO Unit Role : Deliver MAB Military Capability, which enables UK Foreign, Security and Defence Policies Position Role: Management, oversight and coordination of all MAB Diving training, governance and assurance activity, conducted on behalf of Director MAB. Responsibilities: Act as the Military Diving (MD) advisor to the Military Diving Capability Cell’s (MDCC) Senior Operator MAB MD (SOMABMD) on behalf of Dir MAB as the 2* ODH for MAB Below Water activity. On behalf of Dir MAB as the Training Requirements Authority (TRA), maintain MAB’s Training Quality Directive (TQD), via engagement with SOMABMD, and MAB’s Training Management System (TMS) for Below Water (BW) activity to support MAB6 in its delivery of safe training. Conduct 2nd Party Audit and Inspection (2PA) visits to assure training delivered by MAB6 as the Training Delivery Authority (TDA). Liaise with Defence Diving Safety Team (DDST) to coordinate HQ and unit 2PA and 2PA activity. Provide Below Water SME advice to the TRA for all maritime training and safety issues above and below water. Generate Letters of Exemption for MAB6 to operate outside of Defence policy and Letters of Authority to conduct MD activity on behalf of SOMABMD as required. Represent the 2* ODH at Diving Life Support Eqpt (DLSE) Project Safety Case (PSC) meetings. Provide the conduit between HQ MAB, MDCC and SOMABMD. Lead HQ MAB liaison with MAB6’s Unit Dive Officer (UDO) and Below Water Governance Officer (BWGO), and with Defence Diving School (DDS) regarding updates to Initial Diver Training (IDT) and Letters of Exemption with respect to MD training. Maintain/Improve MAB Maritime Training Governance in support of Defence Maritime Regulator's Governance Assurance process, as per Defence Diving Regulations. Contribute to TSLD Continuous Improvement measures to improve Defence training policy documentation so that MAB’s maritime training requirements can be appropriately represented. Provide advice and support to units to assist their delivery of policy-compliant training and de-risking of critical MAB Risk-to-Life training and FGen activity to enhance training safety. 11. Working in an Agile HQ environment delivering for teams and @Scale within the HQ. Training Manager Ship Safety Officer (SSO) qualified QMS 9001:2015 Auditor qualified. IOSH Managing Safety course MAB6 TRAC qualified. NEBOSH Gen Cert / Diploma in Occupational Health Risk Assessor/MAB6 TRAC/DSAT TM can be completed in post. 1-week HO / TO Domestic Considerations : Post is FTRS(HC); as such, holder is not entitled to SSFA or SSSA.
