Senior Buyer - Fresh Food

£55,000 - £70,000 + Bonus & Benefits
I'm currently recruiting for an experienced Senior Buyer to join a successful food retailer at their London Head Office. You will be responsible for leading a team within own brand fresh food - categories TBC.
You will be responsible for supporting the Head of Buying to deliver commercially focused product ranges that meet both Departmental and Company targets, while maintaining a strategic business focus to ensure continued growth within the own label fresh food department.
Some of your duties will include.
* Lead your team of Buyers to manage their individual categories
* Building & maintaining strong relationships with suppliers
* Ensuring selected product lines achieve season defined timeframes.
* Sourcing suppliers & negotiating best cost prices.
* Analysing sales figures to plan successful future lines.
* Attending trade shows / outlets, supplier markets
* Negotiate the best possible contracts & terms.
* Plan & forecast ahead 6/12-month future strategies
* Monitor continual competitor and price analysis to stay ahead
* Presenting reports, figures, and trend information to the Senior Management team
* Develop the Buying team to ensure they fulfil their individual career potential.
Key requirements for the role.
* Proven previous experience as a Buying / Sourcing Manager within a food retailer
* Ability to influence and negotiate effectively.
* Able to adapt swiftly in a fast-paced market.
* Strong leadership skills
* Excellent communication skills and the ability to liaise effectively at all levels.
* Good working knowledge of budgets and managing conflicting projects.
* Excellent understanding of all MS Office products.
