About the Role We are seeking a highly skilled VMWare chief engineer to join our Infrastructure Services team.
This role involves designing, deploying, managing, and optimizing cloud and virtualization environments across public, private, and hybrid cloud platforms.
You will work with a broad range of technologies, including servers, storage, networks, containers, middleware, databases, and virtualization solutions.
This role is critical in ensuring high availability, performance, and security of DXCs infrastructure while supporting cloud migration, automation, and modernization initiatives.
This role blends deep technical expertise with operational leadership, supporting enterprise-grade virtualization, cloud, and server platforms.
Youll manage complex project deployments, drive automation, and ensure platform resilience across secure hybrid environments.
The successful candidate must be a sole UK national and hold or be eligible for high-level UK government security clearance.
Monitor, troubleshoot, and resolve infrastructure issues across storage, networking,and compute environments.
Document system design (HLD/ LLD), configurations, policies, and procedures for future reference and audits.
Strong experience with VMware VCF Basic familiarity with public cloud platforms such as AWS, Azure, or Google Cloud.
Knowledge of networking, storage solutions, and Active Directory in cloud environments.
Experience with automation tools (Terraform, Ansible, PowerShell, or Python).
