Supply Hive is supporting a local primary school in Maidenhead to recruit a part time SEN Teacher for their SEN provision. The successful candidate will take lead responsibility for a class within the school’s SEN Unit, supporting pupils with significant special educational needs, the majority of whom have a diagnosis of Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD). The role also involves leading and guiding a team of Learning Support Assistants (LSAs) to ensure the highest standards of provision and care. Responsibilities: Develop good personal relationships within a team, contributing to a collaborative and supportive working culture. Establish and develop close relationships with all staff, parents, governors, and the wider community. Communicate effectively, both orally and in writing, with a wide range of audiences including pupils, colleagues, parents, and external professionals. Create a purposeful, secure, yet challenging and effective learning environment in each class taught. Plan, deliver, and assess engaging lessons that meet the individual needs of pupils with SEN. Lead and direct a team of support staff to ensure pupils’ needs are met effectively and consistently. Support the development and implementation of individual education plans (IEPs) and contribute to reviews. Work collaboratively with other professionals to ensure the best outcomes for pupils. Maintain high standards of behaviour, safeguarding, and pupil well being at all times. Requirements: ✅A creative and flexible practitioner who can adapt teaching approaches to meet diverse needs. ✅The ability to respond imaginatively to the challenges of curriculum delivery and development within a dynamic SEN provision focused on individual pupil needs. ✅Experience using, or a willingness to learn to use, the TEACCH approach, PECS, and AAC, including Makaton, presented in a clear and well-structured way. ✅Right to work in the UK. ✅DBS on the update service or willingness to obtain a new one.
