Eligibility Criteria

* Be a competent Firefighter
* Completed an Integrated Communications System (ICS) course or pre-incident command review
* Have good leadership skills
* Not subject to formal performance improvement actions, nor have any live disciplinary sanctions
* Discussed the opportunity with your Line Manager
* Live or work within a 5 minute response to the Station
* Whilst it is desirable, it is not essential to have attended a Leading Others Assessment Centre

From 1 April 2024, we are introducing development rates of pay for any new individuals moving into a development or an acting-up role. These pay rates are set out by the National Joint Council.

Essential Requirements

* Experience in supporting and developing teams and individuals
* Understanding of the process of dealing with performance management issues
* Experience at promoting a successful health, safety and wellbeing culture
* Take responsibility for effective performance


Selection Process

The selection process will consist of an initial shortlisting process followed by an interview.
