Senior Principal Project Manager – Major Construction Projects

An exciting opportunity has arisen for an experienced Senior Principal Project Manager to lead the delivery of large-scale, high-value construction and refurbishment projects within a residential and mixed-use estate portfolio.
This role is ideal for a seasoned construction or building surveying professional who thrives on managing complex programmes, leading multidisciplinary teams, and driving projects from inception to completion.
Key Responsibilities
* Lead major construction and refurbishment projects, ensuring delivery on time, within scope, and to budget
* Act as the senior technical and construction lead across multiple concurrent projects
* Manage and coordinate multidisciplinary design teams, contractors, and consultants
* Prepare and present key reports, business cases, and project documentation to senior stakeholders
* Oversee procurement, contract management, staged payments, and project governance
* Resolve technical challenges and ensure full compliance with statutory requirements and health & safety legislation
* Mentor and support junior project staff, promoting best practice in project management
* Work closely with internal departments and external partners to ensure high-quality, value-driven outcomes
About You
* Chartered status (RICS, RIBA, CIBSE, CIOB, ICE, IStructE) OR extensive equivalent experience
* Strong project management background (Prince2, APM or similar desirable)
* Proven success delivering multi-million-pound construction projects
* Experience in residential, public sector, or estates-based environments highly advantageous
* Skilled at stakeholder management, reporting, negotiation, and handling complex project issues
* Strong commercial awareness with the ability to manage budgets and assess risk effectively
* Confident leading teams and motivating others across diverse, high-pressure projects
