Job Description Summary GE’s Power Conversion business, part of GE Vernova, provides electrification systems that are critical to customers’ power and energy needs for their high-performance applications. We work with some of the world’s major energy, maritime and industrial organizations, helping to enable a transition to energy efficiency and decarbonization, including through our specialist motors, drives and control technologies. At Rotating Machines Rugby (RMR), we design and build some of the most technically advanced electrical rotating machinery in the world. We specialise in manufacturing large electrical rotating machinery: Motors and Generators, across a wide variety of industrial applications. Our motors are powering some of the most advance warships in the world, whilst our generators are decarbonising industry for a more sustainable future. The Manufacturing Readiness & Technologies Team is a part of the RMR Engineering Department and consists of a team of Manufacturing Engineers, responsible for development and implementation of new innovative manufacturing technologies. Job Description Job Description: The demand across the globe is growing for rotating stabilisers. For RMR to service our customers effectively, we must increase our capacity of manufacture of these machines as quick as possible. We are working as One Team across all functions to drive improvement, however, to expedite the actions, we are opening this position for anyone interested in adding some scope to their existing role. The goal of this is to grow one of our existing employees to work more cross functionally, develop their leadership skills and deliver results through SQDC with this exciting opportunity. The role will be ideally suited to someone already involved in manufacturing or manufacturing readiness…but really hands on and able to make changes happen fast. Key Responsibilities: What you’ll be doing: Own the reduction in lead time as well as increase in capacity of all manufacturing processes for the RS’s Work collaboratively across functions…Engineering, Manufacturing, Sourcing to drive results Build business cases for investment strategy for RS machines Implement Standard work and processes Implement flow lines Cost out ideas through to implementation Strategically and operationally own the SQDC for large RS’s Providing visibility of progress and goals to the business through performance metrics and reporting to leadership What you’ll bring: A strong, operational background in manufacturing In depth knowledge of problem solving, thinking out of the box, innovative and not afraid to make changes Familiarity with lean and flow A results-driven mindset with a focus on collaboration and continuous improvement Proficiency in data analysis and reporting Effective, collaborative communicator with stakeholder management skills Additional Information Relocation Assistance Provided: No
